Chasing through the Woods

Writer: Alyssandra GironAlyssandra Giron

They say that I am small for my very own kind

That my mouth is so loud, 'tis like I'm out of my mind—

That I'm not intimidating unlike huge mammalians

That I'm weak—'cause I'm a mere Pomeranian

And so I chased the foul boars to show my vein's strong—

I have longed for this day to prove them they were wrong

I ran as fast as Usain Bolt into the grassy woods

Scaring those bully boars, with my sharp teeth, as I should;

Was scared by spooky trees when pigs were out of sight

But, I remained calm and sharpened my claws despite;

'Twas a relief, I got myself out of the woods

Now's time for me to claim my sweet, delicious food

I have longed for this day to prove them they were wrong.

Hello there! I wrote this poem as part of my requirements in the subject "Creative Writing." I'm just an amateur in writing poems (despite the years of studying poetry) and I would love to hear your thoughts about my poem above. Please do let me know your ideas, feelings, and criticisms by commenting on this post. Thank you for your time in reading this. Padayon!
